Who knew Krakow was like a history-filled treasure chest waiting to be opened? I mean, I took a detour just to check out Auschwitz-Birkenau - talk about a unique tourist destination! And Krakow? Well, let's just say it was the cherry on top of my whirlwind adventure. What a delightful surprise!

My Krakow adventure was like a speedy rollercoaster ride, lasting a whopping 52 hours! The city was as calm as a sleeping kitten, and the locals were as friendly as puppies in a park. I was still riding the Italian wine wave when I landed here, so I stuck close to my hotel, which happened to be just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Old Town. What a whirlwind of a trip!

Auschwitz-Birkenau
Seeing Auschwitz-Birkenau was surreal. Some ask why I wanted to see such a place.
So, you're basically thrown into the deep end when visiting Auschwitz - no user manual, no GPS, just good luck! I found myself swept away by the museum crowd, like a lost penguin in a sea of tourists. The atmosphere was so hush-hush, like a library where the librarian means business. Walking on that historical turf felt like stepping into a time warp - cue the dramatic music! Had to pause and let it sink in, feeling like I was in a movie (a very serious one). No regrets, just a whole lot of "what just happened?!"
